For a number of years now, THESEUS-FE has offered a local thermo-physiologic manikin called FIALA-FE. The manikin is named after the researcher Dr. Dusan Fiala, who through his work succeeded in modelling life-like thermal reactions of each body part. FIALA-FE represents the latest available from this multi-discipline research area of thermo-physiology.
Through FIALA-FE, our customers have access to the latest thermo- physiologic models available from research, and can apply them in complex heat transfer simulations for human comfort. Global as well as local knowledge can be gained from the simulations.
With FIALA-FE, the user has the opportunity not only to utilize available models, but also to uniquely tailor them to particular needs. Coupling with other tools for example can yield high benefits. Through the implementation process, we worked in close cooperation with Dr. Fiala, to assure that we provide our customers verified models with the latest updates. To provide the outmost assurance of the validity of our models, we have conducted an extensive validations program comparing simulation results with experimental data.
THESEUS-FE also greatly benefits from our close cooperation's with leading research institutes and universities. This assures that we continually improve the quality of our simulations according to the latest numerical techniques, and also allows us to test and implement new comfort-models. With several publications and contributions on conferences, THESEUS-FE has reached international acknowledgement with in the area of Thermal Manikin Simulations and Thermal Comfort Predictions and Optimizations.
