P+Z presents at HdT's conference in autumn
Dr. Eberhard Mayer from Fraunhofer Institut für Bauphysik, the chairman of HdT's conference titled "Ermittlung des thermischen Raumklimas in Fahrzeugen" embraced P+Z's contribution with the title "Thermal Design and Comfort Rating of Vehicle Cabins with THESEUS-FE". The paper is about software-based thermal comfort assessment in cars with the help of human thermoregulation models and is a reasonable complement to the conference's focus on objective comfort measurement by thermal hardware dummys and various testing methods.

SIMVEC accepted P+Z's Paper
The committee of SIMVEC agreed to P+Z's abstract with the title "The Application of Thermal Simulation Techniques for Seat Comfort Optimisations". The paper about thermal comfort of seats focuses on local comfort strategies especially in the contact area and includes humidity aspects and sweating of passengers, which are decisive parameters for ventilated seat design. The work is done in cooperation with the BMW Group and is performed by Dr. Stefan Paulke from P+Z.

Thermal dummy development with the help of THESEUS-FE
The Aviation section at FH Joanneum Graz GmbH supervised by their head of degree programme Dipl.-Ing. Bruno Wiesler initialised a diploma thesis with the aim to develop an intelligent thermal dummy, which is able to judge local thermal comfort. THESEUS-FE will support the developers to model the inner thermo-physiological control mechanism of the body in the right way and additionally will evaluate the advanced comfort sensation. This is already the second cooperation with the University of Applied Science of Graz in the field of thermal comfort.

New cooperation with next German Elite University
Since a couple of years now P+Z cooperates in many reseach areas with the Technical University of Munich long before they became one of German's top universities. Some of the THESEUS-FE related research works can be found in our recently created RESEARCH area. A few days ago a very prospective master thesis titled "Parametrisches Modell zur interaktiven Simulation menschlicher Thermoregulation" is initialised at Civil Engineering and Surveying School, which will be supervised by Dr. Christoph van Treek, who is teamleader of Computation in Engineering.

PhD thesis with THESEUS-FE at Bauhaus-University Weimar

THESEUS-FE used in building simulation

The "Academic Licensing Program" breeds a new academic cooperation partner. The Building Physics Department of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar use THESEUS-FE's latest thermoregulatory model of humans for their thermal comfort analysis. Within the scope of a PhD thesis supervised by Prof. Dr. Kornadt detailed local comfort models within air-conditioning of rooms will be investigated..
